Street Photography Tips

#1 Get out there!

You can look at a camera for as long as you like. You can think about and talk about doing some street photography until the cows come home, but at some point you have to pick that camera up, close the front door behind you and get out there. Yes, it’s a bit scary and a bit daunting, but there’s no alternative to grasping that nettle. So the sooner you do it, the sooner you’ll be over that barrier. Why not start with some shots that don’t include people - inanimate objects, reflections, buildings - anything that gets you on the street and shooting away.

You’ll be surprised that, once you get out there, how easy it is to build your confidence and get on a roll.
